We just lost one of my daughter's teacher's husband. First they were evacuated from the fires and then the husband had a stoke and he passed on July 4th. The widow and her daughter are staying with family still since they haven't been allowed back to their home yet. It's been sad to see so much sadness happen to so many people's lives in such a short amount of time.
As far as I have heard, there wasn't a quilt collection of any kind yet, but I do know that there was an organization that was looking for 12 1/2 squares of fabric .... if you would like, I can post the information on the board for you and as a personal message. The organization is collecting the squares and then putting the squares together and then they donating the batting, backing, etc. If you would like to donate entire quilts, I am sure they would welcome them.
I feel so lucky that my life is only affected by the smoke in the air...and my thoughts are with those that are having to deal with their homes being in the line of the fires......
