i make raggy quilts with batting all the time- it's the best way to use up scrap batting.
i cut my batting squares 1" smaller than my fabric squares- place in center- quilt- then join into raggy quilt, clip, wash ---wonderful!

this quilt has cotton top, flannel back, batting center...9 out of every 10 raggy quilts i make are made this way
