I use muslin as a foundation and it is usually unwashed. Sometimes it is. That is something I just don't worry about. I use so many scraps from customers quilts and I have no idea whether they washed the fabrics or not. I just go wit it! Thanks for the link to the photos of the sting quilts. I got a few more ideas and realized I should post the ones I've already done!
