Never be "scared" to try something. It is just a spool of thread. If your machine doesn't like it, it doesn't mean that it will be seriously broken. It just won't work well in the machine.

And just because some love Aurifil and don't mind the price, doesn't mean you have to try it or use it. Heck, even Coats and Clark thread sews fine! I have been using the cheapest thread I can get away with all my life, first in garment sewing and now in quilting. Nothing ever fell apart because of the thread. I'd rather buy fabric.

(Nothing against expensive thread folks - don't crucify me. Just trying to encourage her to do what works for her and her situation.)
