Default My afternoon project

I will be visiting extended family at the end of the month, and I wanted to take her a hostess gift, since I figure she won't accept money. So I asked her to send me photos of her living room and couch, and I came up with these cute little pillows which I hope she will like. I've been enjoying discovering different techniques of applique, and was having a lot of fun using some of those in the pillows. The tulip is done with fusible interfacing and stitched with invisible thread, the stem of the tulip was cut on the bias, ironed into folds and sewn on the inside, folded over, and stitched fast on the loose side, and the rest were done with more typical machine zig-zag stitches and fusible applique material. At any rate, I had a lot of fun this afternoon, and I hope you enjoy looking.
