Yes. The carriage is sized for regular domestic sewing machines and other short-arm machines. It's designed to be placed on a table for sit-down work, which means the cord for the foot pedal on regular machines is long enough to reach the floor. It will hold a machine with up to a 9-inch harp, which includes some of the faster straight-stitch machines such as the Brother PQ1500S, Juki 2010Q, etc. which sew up to 1500 or 1600 stitches per minute. The harp size (distance from needle to righthand post of machine) on my Bernina 1230 is only 6.5", and it probably sews about 600-800 stitches per minute max.
