Thank you ladies.
It was a fun quilt to make.
It is made from 2.5" strips. The blocks finished up around 13.5".
Not exactly sure how many shirts we actually used. We collected shirts for a couple of months until I thought I had enough. When I took the shirts apart for cutting the strips, I used "only" the backs of the shirts. I tried to buy the largest shirts we could find (more fabric!) The backs were bigger than a fat quarter!
I still have the 2 fronts, 2 sleeves, and cuff & collar pieces to make another quilt.
I wanted lots of different colors, so if I had to guess, I probably had 10 -12 shirts. (lights & darks total)
We waited and went every Sunday, it was .99 day. I used blue fabric that's been in my stash for years along with extra log cabin blocks from the front to make the back. No extra $$$ there. I already had the batting too.
So, it was pretty cheap to make. But, now I think I'm addicted to hunting for more shirts.
I love the cozy look of the plaids.
