I use whatever batting is appropriate for the quilt I am making. If I want the crinkled look or a lighter quilt, then I use an 80/20 blend. If I want a smoother look or a warmer quilt, then I will use Hobbs poly. I think poly requires more quilting to keep it in place and looking nice, but that is just me.
