I can add, get some gloves with rubber nubs, gardening gloves work, or some sort of quilting gloves, all will help you grip the quilt so your hands don't slip. I always wear them. When you start, each time, pull your bobbin thread up with the top thread, so both threads are on top of the quilt, back stitch a couple of stitches, continue on and make sure you are relaxed, if not it will show in your quilting. By all means do not give up, each quilt will look better. Lots of things to remember and make a check list of what you need to do before starting on your actual quilt. Check the list each time.
