The Land Of Faraway
This quickly written poem was inspired by a art fabric done by Designer 1234, one of your quilter members on the forum. It was inspired by a photo she sent me of her Fabric art. I have a friend who maintains a list of my writing fans. Her name is Ann and she will send this out on the internet soon with music and Shirleys graphic. I hope you will enjoy it. Vickey Stamps

In the land of Faraway
A place where imagination can lay
The sound of laughter upon snow
In scenic places kids love to go
Two children playing beneath a tree
One that stood, one with bended knee
Exploring a track he’d chanced to see
As he waited beneath a slim Birch tree
Of a foxes foot that paused awhile
So later a child would come to smile
To picture the fox as he stood there
Showing his sister … needing to share
Watching the smile caressing her face
One that time would never erase
Now a soft wind whistled a sweet little sound
Through the limbs of the tree and onto the ground
The sound of laughter only children can bring
Rang forth from the two and beckoned forth spring
A frozen river with its layer of ice
Gave beauty to all …like a taste of good spice
For winter would stay yet for awhile
More children could come here. More could smile
More foxes to pause beneath a tree
In a land of magic for you and for me
It happened in the land of Faraway
Where beauty rests and children play
