Ah, I just read the auction - these are by General Fabrics and they're not known for durability or fade-resistance. Quilt the heck out of the quilt, use a lightweight batting (like a low-loft poly) so as not to strain the fabrics in the top and a sturdy backing to support the top - that way, it'll be plenty strong. I think if you can wash the quilt in Retayne, it will help hold the colors better.
It's gonna be really pretty with those prints.
