I feel your pain! I watched the video a couple of times and said to myself "This is easy, no problem". I ended up with a big wad of twisted fabric at the end after only 8 seams, so I cut it off and limited myself to 8-strip sections without grabbing the bottom and bringing it up to the top. Can't wait to hear from other posters where we've gone wrong.
