i think the display quilt is lovely- if you think it needs more *UMPH* by all means make one to better suit your tastes...that's one of the things that makes quilting so great is we can all take the same piece of fabric & make totally different things with it.
and to answer that first question---of course---tons of us will be making holiday items; table settings, quilts, mantle scarfs, tree skirts, the list goes on & on- we have ALOT of members and all are very creative & inspired when it comes to holiday/special occassion quilting.
