Don't forget Elmer's washable school glue! It's the greatest for holding pieces of fabric together. Just add a tiny dot of glue, press the piece into place against another piece and dry iron it for a couple of seconds. Holds fabric in line and washes out when you wash the finished quilt!
Short rulers can also be handy for quick checks or estimations.
