If you are anything like me, you will find that glue basting the binding is such a time saving technique. Plus, it really helps to take away the stress of worrying about shifting, rolling, unevenness and so on. I recommend though, especially the first time, take your time and do not rush. Because just like with any new project/technique when we get excited and rush, I mess up and get discouraged. Also, just another tip/reminder....that just because it is glued down does not mean it can not be gently pried apart and reglued into a better position. Have a great time with your binding.
