I had a Compac computer....oh, I think that was Compaq...but I did a search for Compac sewing machine and a few things came up suggesting it was a Japanese clone.

There were scads of machines made in Japan and sold under a great variety of names in that period ("badged machines"). Many of them were copies of the Singer 15, so without knowing more about your machine, I'd suggest trying that threading sequence:
