Say one wanted to thin one's herd for whatever reason. How does one go about figuring out which machine one wants to keep and which ones to move out? If I go by the ones I use, I can thin to about 7 BUT is there another method of thinning?

YUP. Get rid of ALL of them at a really exorbitantly high price on Craig's List or Ebay. Then go buy some more at a really low price...
