That's exactly why I bought one as well! My Janome 6600 was just to heavy for me to lift. I had major surgery 4 months ago and for the first couple of months I could even lift the 3160, I was limited to no more than 5 lbs. My quilting buddies were wonderful helping me! They even came to the house to pick me up so I could go to friendship group meetings!
