Hey Deborah, my husband lived in Japan for 7 years and he was also a Gaijiin. When we married, he was more oriental than American (happy coats, sitting on the floor). We still have lots of oriental decorations in our home and my stash is more oriental than anything else. I could never get the taste of Sake. Enjoy Tokyo - it's a beautiful city. Had a Korean friend and she gave me the cutest pair of scissors with the fancy knot strings. They're not the easiest to use, but they are sharp.
