Yes, I am very happy with the results of this swap. I saw a need (from that original post where a quilter expressed sorrow for never receiving a quilt) and a huge opportunity (people who really wanted to make a quilt for someone else). We had a few bumps along the way, but 58 of the 62 who signed up made and received a quilt. We were also amazingly darned successful in match-making, for the most part. It still floors me that there were so many instances of someone wanting to make something for another person who wanted herself to make the kind of quilt that the first maker wanted to receive. (Did that make sense?) That surprised me the most.

With a few exceptions, you all scored that the quilt you received was over the top and you've got a new quilting buddy. So I'd say it was a rip-roaring success.

I haven't decided if I'll repeat it for 2013. I think the timing was generally right-- open it in January and have a completed quilt by July 1. Most people were able to work within that time frame, and it seemed like a good time of the year, as well-- not competing with holiday prep. I have a few months to decide if I want to do it again. It WAS a lot of work. And if I do do it again, I think I'd limit it to half the number. It was just a challenge (for this data-challenged girl) to keep track of you all.
