Considering how rarium those donut bobbins are, you might have to bite the bullet and pay the high cost on them. Or, use the machine for a door stop.
If the one my SIL gave us had used the donuts I wouldn't even have considered using it. I would have just cleaned it up and put it on CL or something.

I do have one bobbin - guess I'm lazy and hate changing/wasting thread when a different color is needed. This would be a giant doorstop cuz it's in a library type cabinet that I understand is pretty rare.
