Donna, Ms. Mildred does not have an external belt so can I safely presume she is gear driven? Did they have belts when they were hand or foot driven? I am learning that I know nothing about vintage machines. Thanks for your question.

In good light I can see that Ms. Mildred has not been cleaned in a very long time. Tomorrow I will sit down with her, after watching the tutorials, and start the cleaning.
