Pattern: cheaper by the dozen
Fabric: set of fat quarters from Wal-mart - in their sale bin $2 for 6. Got two sets so there's more duplication in this than the pattern called for.
Border: from Joann's. I saw a magazine from the 90's that used a big floral print for appliques. I wanted to try that. I might have "liked" it better without that addition, but ... it's different and hopefully kind of fun.
Quilting: I used daisies and loop-de-loops. This is the second quilt in a row that I've quilted without breaking a needle or breaking a thread. (oops! Did I way that out loud? OH NO!)
Backing: from Connecting Threads - when they had their basics for $2.48/yd.
Batting: pieced from leftovers
So ... entire thing was less than $20.
Where I had appliqued the flowers and sewn the rick rack I had some waves in the quilt top. I starched the daylights out of it before I sandwiched it then spray basted it extra around the applique. When I started quilting it I sewed around each large block to stabilize it then quilted the blocks around the applique first. Came out without any puckers or weird things. Hurray!
