We purchased an off brand foam mattresses and really love it. It is similar to a Temperpedic, but so much cheaper. Ours is firm and it has held up for four years so far. You can't flip this mattress but you can rotate it. My brother recently purchased one and loves it. Give them a try.
Our same experience, bought an off brand memory foam..now on year EIGHT and looking to replace it...been sagging in the middle for 2 years now. I guess the "8 year rule" is true. I read that the Latex holds its' shape vs the memory foam which is a "marketing" ploy. I am considering a Stearns & Foster Adele from the Mattress Firm. Individually wrapped coils with a memory foam top. I loved my memory foam at first but now I am going back to a coil option.
my 2 cents....very timely thread!
