Well ! We surely got off the subject of quilting. But how people mispronounce English is my favorite subject. But getting back to quilting. The word "bargello" was one I never knew how to pronounce until less than a year ago. I had made some and was hoping someone would say the word so I would know how to say it. It is not in my dictionary, and this computer spell check doesn't know the word either. But one day I went to the Dictionary site and asked the guy to say it for me. The "g" in bargello is pronounced like the "z" in azure. What a relief. Now I can show people my magic mountain wall hanging and confidently tell them this is bar ZH ello.
