Once in our guild they had this mystery quilt class and I wanted to do it then I saw what they did and this one lady did it in white and a light yellow...well they were airplanes and you could not see those yellow airplanes as they were so light you couldn't tell where the white stopped and the yellow began...so that thought has put me off.
I'm really anal about my quilting, too, but I have been wanting to let go of that so I find mysteries help me with that. I actually taught a mystery once & my suggestion (which, if I do say so myself, is pretty good) was that if you were stumped about fabric/color selection, to go with either Christmas colors, RWB or Amish... it's hard to go wrong with any of those selections.
