Our local shelter also holds garage sales twice a year. Maybe the quilt could be sold and the money donated to the care of the shelter animals. I volunteer at the shelter and it is so sad to see all the animals waiting to be adopted. I have adopted several and would take them all home if I could. Hubby says no more animals!
I have to agree. I would be very upset to find out that a quilt I donated to an animal shelter, nursing home, etc. went to an individual who works or volunteers there (not that volunteers do not work). We have a Goodwill store in our town that the former manager inspected all donations for her own use before things were priced and put on the floor for sale.
