1) Do you spray baste your hand quilting projects?
2) What size hoop do you like best? I will be quilting in the car and condo.
3) What needle size is best?
4) What thread do you suggest?
I hope to get all of my stuff I need together this week and get the piece basted before I leave.
Your advice is certainly appreciated!
I spray baste depending on the size of the project. Larger would probably get hand basting.
I use the 14" "No Slip Hoop". Can get it at JoAnn. Retail is about $20.00 now but use coupon. I use this in all my hand quilting classes. I like the feature that it really doesn't slip.
Needle size is #9. Fits my hand better
Thread - hands up for the Americana. .99 at JoAnn. Not a lot of colors but great value.
I use Thread Haven but also like and prefer the finger moistioner you get at the office suppy store - for sorting paper or money at the bank. It is inespensive and I believe it does a better job of keeping thread from tangling than any of the other stuff.
