I've had the same trouble with layer cakes. It looks like a great idea to have all the fabrics and colors but then 'what to do' with them. I went online and bought extra fabric by the yard from same like of Moda and worked into a quilt I recently finished. I still have one layer cake to use up I'm going to look up the Double Slice and maybe it will be the answer.
Glad I'm not the only one who winds up in a quandry of what to do with expensive things I've bought.
