Yes, you chek the packaging for the quilting requirements. The old cotton batting was not very stable that's why it was densely quilted. My Hobbs 80/20 fusible says up to 4 inches apart for the quilting. Some others batts say upwards to 10 inches. It really depends on the batt. Do you know what brand of cotton batt you have?
