Doing the Happy Dance
DH & I are doing the Happy Dance. We have signed up to have Solar Power put on. With the cost of electricity going through the roof we are doing something we have wanted to do for so long. We thought we couldn't do it until we could replace our Super 6 roof (Asbestos). Our house is around 100 years old, don't know if the roof is. We were looking at tens of thousands of dollars to have that done. I found a company who would do it providing the roof wasn't flaking. I wasn't even looking, just a lovely lady named Helen started talking to me in a shopping mall I've been to maybe twice in 25 years. Was just filling in time waiting for an elderly friend whom I had dropped off at the hospital.
We had someone come to check the roof this morning and he says it looks fine, He will clean & paint it next week.
It won't be installed until the beginning of November as DH will be away for 6 weeks. So from next year no more power bills. Yahoo!!
Power has gone up so much since our previous state government privatized it and is reported to rise another 47% in the next 18 months. As we live in the Sunshine state, Queensland, this just makes so much sense. Just wanted to share this great news with everyone.
