I'm doing a flower garden and have decided that the easiest way for me to get the pieces ready to assemble is to heavily starch with liquid starch the fabric, i press it and then cut. When I finger press over the paper or quilt pati everything looks so nice, stays so nice while i'm piecing. You are doing a wonderful job, and a thought for using the leftover path hexes. I assume I will have some since I just keep making pieces when I'm in that mood, then I assemble when I move onto another mood.
