You should check to see what all it has. Normally it has an embroidery machine as well and hoops, etc. I got mine almost two yrs ago for 650 and I got lots with it. I then bought a box to read the cards on my pc with which was an additional 150. Then I had to pull out my old laptop because the box wouldn't work on software after XP. This is said to be one of the best machines that Viking ever put out and most people when buying a new one keep it as their backup because it's so good. I had planned on doing that when I bought my Ruby but do to finacial reasons I'm putting it up for sale for what I paid for it; including a few feet and designs that I got after the fact. Check to see when was the last time it was serviced and if they offer any warranty. Mine had a two yr warranty which I used and just got it back from being serviced. By the way, the 1200# is normally used in reference to the embrodiery machine. I verified this with my Viking rep. The #1 is the accurate name for this machine and when ever you buy anything for it that's what you need to check for; even on Vikings website.
