It's so cheap, just buy a spool or two and give it a shot!

That's what I did, and I like it quite a bit. Yes, it's lintier than Aurifil, and thicker, but you really can't beat the price and color selection. I love Aurifil (and how much fits on a bobbin!) but it's so expensive that lately I've been reserving it for piecing and using the (cheaper, thicker) CT thread for quilting and sewing on the binding and I'm quite happy with that compromise. At least half or more of my quilts are backed in flannel so I'm used to cleaning my machine regularly; I don't need to clean it out any more often with CT thread than I would have to anyway. It's not THAT linty.

When I bought my machine, my dealer recommended Robison-Anton thread and my machine came with a bunch of it...I think CT's thread is smoother and less linty than the R-A thread. I haven't used Gutterman (sp?) so I can't compare that one.

I'm waiting for CT to have a sale and then I plan on stocking up on a whole rainbow's worth.
