I think we're mixing up two different machines. Janome just announced a new Horizon (the 8900) which is an upgrade to the 7700. The Horizon is a domestic sewing machine with an 11" throat. No word on pricing yet, but here's the press release:

They have had available for some time a true longarm - the Janome Artistic Quilter, available in 18" and 26". Here's a link to the 18" version:
