I've had my iPad for about 10 months and love it. Early in the summer I was having problems with tennis elbow and it was great to read books when I couldn't hold a needle and sew or rotary cut my fabric. It is also great to sit in the living room with the rest of family and check e-mails or QB when watching TV and not feel like I am isolated because the computer is in another room. I also like being able to listen to music, mine and IHeart Radio. Husband laughs at me when I try to do "touch" screen on the computer because that is what you do with iPad
Granddaughter (age 3) also loves to play games and use the photo booth option to take funny pictures of herself and grandpa. Would definitely get another if something happened to this one. When I got mine I got a keyboard case that I like to use (works with bluetooth) so I don't have to touch the screen to type. Good luck on your search and decision.
