Hi, Loretta

No, I'm no closer to the Broken Stove pattern, although the patterns suggested here are worthy considerations.

Perhaps my mother in law called it by a local name; or perhaps the pattern was intricate enough to dissuade most quiltmakers, so never gained popularity. The stove pipe wanders throughout the quilt top, she said, so that makes Drunkard's Path a good place to start with a variation.

I've had a CurveMaster foot for ages and have never used it. I also owe my #2 son a quilt, so I think it's time I acted on my wish. He was close to his grandma, and I know he (and his wife) would appreciate the effort.

Working on an Attic Windows for #1 son right now, although I could start thinking about a DP variation--you know, push the pencil around and see what happens.

Thanks for asking. I appreciate your curiosity.
:D
