I don't remember how long it took. I probably over did them, because it was the first thing I tried! I didn't try to slice too thin, either. Normal sandwich thickness! I want to say about 24-hours, but that might be too long. I didn't peel them either, and I think you're supposed to peel them.
I just brushed some olive oil on them or a little bit of salt. Then I sprinkled some basil on them. They were very good. I keep my dried stuff in the freezer, just in case
