This link mentioned below is where I got my inspiration, but I made a few adjustments to make the blocks a bit bigger; my 'flying geese' 'trees' are 3.5 X 6.5 ea. and the strips are 3.5 X 12.5 each; my blocks finished at 12.5 inch each. I used the Lazy Girl Flying Geese Ruler to make these geese, love this ruler, makes 4 perfect flying geese at a time, you can crank them out in a hurry. It is one of my favorite tools. I added several borders,1) a 2.5 inch white border, 2) 4.5 inch red border, 3) a 'flying geese' border made the size as the flying geese in the blocks, 4) then finished with a 6.5 in dark green border...it is big!
