That's the key for me as well, both with the sewing machines and my antique woodworking tools. There's something just plain 'right' about the looks of some of the machines - the 99, 128 and some of the hand crank models in particular. Along side that there's the ornamentation - some of the Singers and the Frister & Rossmann are just peacock perfect in their ostentation.
