The potato trick really works I made a big pot of veg soup the other day ago and the lid on salt shaker fell in along with contents. Well at the price off beef there was no way I was throwing it away. Thank goodness I remembered some one here had asked this same question a long while back and I got out my tablet of QB's Household Hints and found the answer. By the way the soup was delicious and I only got one bowl for my lunch the next day out of a 5 gallon pot.
