I have some old blocks like those. The problem for me is that the fabric is quite vintage and definitely not the quality of today's fabrics even though I love them. I know that they will fray quite easily and will not stand up to a lot of use. To tell the truth I am thinking about creating a piece of wall art with them to put in a frame for my sewing room. Or if I was going to make a quilt I would not take the time to hand applique them - but rather machine applique them onto a solid background. Piecing is just too labor intensive.
