Is there anything I shouldn't clean? Thank you all for the help!!
Just use the machine oil to clean the black parts it may take some elbow power but it will work , I can't find my photoes of the 101 but will take more and post them , the info on what cleaners to use is in the vintage machine section on this board, the plug wires may need to be replaced and when you cleen it up you will probely find the wires are in bad shape thats why it was dumped, the potted motor is on the back of the machine take the cover off and see if the wires are clean as in no rust or green stuff all over them, you can take the back cover off and look in side to see the greers , I used a vaccum w/ a small er end and cleaned it up you can move the wheel and get to all the gears that way. and keep oiling it while you turn them,to fix the wire plug just replace the outside wiring ,not the motor part it should be done by your sewing machine repair man SMRM you dont need a foot petal the knee thingee should do it ..
