I just bought fabric to make one of these quilts. I an gion to use a 60` ruler to cut the pieces. My question is, what size strips did you cut for these hexagons? I am thinking about cutting my strips 4 1/2". Is that too wide to cut the strips? I am actaully going to make my hexagons into separate blocks with sashing around them so I am thinking I want bigger hexagons--but I don't want them too big. What do you suggest?
