Ok, I've "borrowed" this post from Lisa_wanna_b_quilter, the team leader for #5. I guess we should be addressing these issues among ourselves before we do anything else:
2 of our group members are up in the air (as I understand it) right now, so once that gets sorted out, I'll get the mailing addresses to the correct people. You will always send to the same person each time, so you only have to keep track of one address instead of 5 (or 4, really, because you already know your own address).
Mailing Dates
You have two months to get each round done.
1st Row – mail by Dec. 1st
Row 2 – Feb. 1st
Row 3 – April 1st
Row 4 – June. 1st
Row 5 – Aug. 1st
I have never done this before so feel free to jump in with suggestions of things that have worked in the past if you have experience or ideas.
We need to make a few decisions.
#1. Sashing? If someone wants sashing on their quilt, do you mind if the sashing strips are included for each person to add with their row? It could increase mailing cost a bit, but I doubt much.
#2. How do you want to handle labels?
#3. How should the quilt owner convey their vision of the quilt to the group? I was thinking each owner could send along letter stating their theme and what that theme means to them. Any other suggestions or ideas?
#4. Should rows be mailed early if finished early?
#5. How do we feel about posting the tracking number for packages as they go out? They must be insured per the R/R rules; if you purchase the postage online through USPS, the tracking is included (i.e., free). If you mail via the post office (building, not website) I believe there is a charge to add tracking (I think less than $1.00).
