Try using a stilleto; I use a cut off bamboo kebob stick that is sharp on one end, its a long one so I cut it in half and it helps me hold the end of the fabric better to get a 1/4" seam. Foound that as I approched the end of the stitch line the fabric would pull over and leave the end uneven.
