I'd also worry about the woodworking dust. If there was a way to separate your sewing stuff from his wood working stuff then it would be a good idea - as long as you can heat and cool it. Nobody wants to quilt in the summer in a 100 degree room
Do you have a dining room that you can take over instead? We ditched the whole dining room designation and turned it in to a video game room
