I have very good luck using a bar of Sunlight soap. I have a collection of christening gowns including a family heirloom. I have used the Sunlight soap on all of these. I soften the soap in warm water and rub it into my hand. I then gently rub it into the cloth of the item. If you can, leave the item in the sun and reapply the soap and leave in the sun. You will see the spots dissapear. Very gently wash the quilt and and lay flat to dry. If you can put a colour catcher in the wash. It does seem time consuming, but it really isn't and is really worth it.
