I bought a set of cardboard letters at the DOLLAR TREE they were in school or teachers area and 4 inches. I put stitch witchery on fabric and turned the cardboard templates backwards of the fabric...traced with a pencil cut them out and ironed them on my top where I wanted them. Then I stitched with a satin stitch all around them...here's an applique quilt for a special little boy that I made earlier this year
