I have made many of these tablerunners and they are very easy - as long as you follow directions and check ruler placement carefully before you cut. Once you have made one you will be hooked and not have a problem. According to a saleperson at my LQS the pattern was originally free but now is only for sale - LQS has to pay in order to include it in a kit. The designer is Karen Mongomery. Hope this helps but doesn't discourage you - wonderful holiday gifts.
